Book & Movie Review- Molly's Game

Joe and I recently read the book Molly's Game. We decided we would read the book while we waited for the movie to come out on DVD.

It is hard to believe it was a true story and just not made up. I am not one who likes biographies or reading to "learn." I like a good dramatic up and down story and this fits into that category. It's an action packed book about poker, greed, and knowing who to trust.

The book details Molly Bloom's rise to run a secret celebrity rich poker game in back rooms and fancy hotels. The book drops some big names that many will recognize from many movies we watch on the big screen. IMDb's description of the movie is, "The true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier, who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target."

I would highly recommend reading the book first, because the movie does not use names in it. In order for you to place characters in the movie to who they are referring to in real life you need to read the book.

 A lot of times I feel like movies don't do books justice, however, I do think this was a really good representation of the book.

Some of the main actors or actresses in the film include: Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, and many more! Jessica Chastain did an awesome job playing Molly Bloom. I felt like they all did an excellent job representing their characters. 

 I would recommend both the book and movie, especially if you are interested in biographies, crime, and drama genres! Or if you are like Joe and I and love poker!

Cold Day, but a Happy, Happy Day!!!

We are at -8 degrees here in arctic Indiana! So while schools are closed (this means the Hubby is home still in bed), some of us have to truck it to work! Even though the weather is terrible, I am super excited today! It was announced that I was the official winner of the Creative Cookie Contest hosted by Cookie and Cups  and Confessions of a Cookbook Queen . I did the contest because I thought it would be fun. Guest Room Redo on a Budget

In our Monday catch up, I talked about living in our house for 4 years. My sister had been living with us for the past year, so when she moved out into her own apartment, I decided to decorate the guest room. Let's just say the room before was pretty boring! It was a hodge-podge of hand me downs. I decorated and updated the room for under $35. I think it looks awesome! I used a leftover gallon of paint from when we remodeled our rental property. Check out that post here . I didn't do a whole lot when it came to decorating, but I found a couple things at Goodwill, like the lamp, the black vase, and the little bird all for under $8.
