Let's Catch Up!

WOW, it's been over 6 months since I have last blogged. It's pretty crazy how life can get super busy and things like blogging get pushed to the back burner.

Let's catch up on life.

In March, I switched to a new job. I now work for a Foster Care company. I help license foster families. It's such a rewarding job to know that we help families impact children's lives everyday.

In June, we welcomed our sweet baby girl, Cassie.

I was scheduled for a c-section, but she decided she wanted to come early and so my water broke and off we went to the hospital! Talk about throwing plans out the window!

The delivery went smooth and mommy and baby did wonderful. It was a HUGE adjustment to having a newborn. People do not tell how different life is, I don't know if you can comprehend until it happens.

She is now 3 1/2 months old and growing like crazy! She has started to laugh and talks all the time. She can roll over but would prefer not to be on her stomach. She is always wanting to sit up and won't lay back!

We absolutely love her, but people do not tell you how hard it is. I'm not going to lie, there were a few days I wasn't sure if I could do it. You are tired, she is crying, there is nothing you can do to soothe her... it is hard. But I think we are over the hump of colic crying, but that period of time sucked.

Now it's a lot of fun getting the smiles and laughs when she sees you.

She is a girl after her Mom & Dad's own heart. She loves The Office, this is her laughing while watching!

The Hubby and I just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. It's crazy to believe that we have been married that long! We celebrated by spending a night away.

We golfed, went to the casino and ate dinner! It was great having some one-on-one time together. PLUS we came out ahead as winners! #WINNING

I am back in my work fantasy football league this year. I was 2-0 until this week. Ugh, all my players decided to get together and suck this week!

But you can't deny how cute she looks rooting on the Colts!

I am hoping I can get back to blogging again. We are starting to get a routine down and Cassie is starting to play more and more. She really prefers that someone sits with her and talks, that gets the most laughs and smiles!

It won't be long and the Hubby will be coaching basketball. I can't wait to see how she likes the games. We took her to the local football game and she loved it. She is nosey and was looking around and watching people.

I hope all has been going well for everyone! We are hanging in there and figuring out this new adventure together!

Until next time,

Kara

Ways to Save Money on Groceries

The Hubby and I have been together 8 years this month. We have been together since we were freshman in college.  The unique and fun thing about our relationship is that we have kind of grown up as adults together.  When we were in college we both were living year to year on what we earned from working in the summer months. That means we never could be extravagant with what we purchased for groceries. We learned pretty early how to budget our money to stretch it as far as we could.  Now that we both have worked full time for 5 years, times have changed, but I still love to save money. There is no better feeling than getting a great deal! Here are a few ways to save at the grocery store: Digital Coupons : These are so easy and help save big. I mainly grocery shop at Kroger. It is super easy to register your Shoppers Card to instantly download digital coupons to it. This is what I primarily do to save our family money. I try to combine the digital coupons with Kroger sale

Date Night Jar

The Hubby and I have been together 8 years. The one thing we have consistently argued over for those 8 years is the question, "What do you want to do?" I consider us to both be intelligent adults, but when that question comes out of the other persons mouth its like we become fools and have no thoughts. Our common answer is "I don't know" or "I don't care".  Well I found something to fix that problem. Our date night jar! I saw the idea on Pinterest (where all ideas live of course) and decided it was an inexpensive, crafty solution to our problem. All you need are Popsicle sticks, markers, a jar, and your list of activities you want to use. Both the Hubby and I brainstormed ideas in the categories of free dates, cheap dates, more expensive dates, and plan ahead dates. Here is our example list: Making the list was the hardest part. There are a lot of online links for date ideas. Just cater your list to your tastes and preferen

Book & Movie Review- Molly's Game

Joe and I recently read the book Molly's Game. We decided we would read the book while we waited for the movie to come out on DVD. photo credit link It is hard to believe it was a true story and just not made up. I am not one who likes biographies or reading to "learn." I like a good dramatic up and down story and this fits into that category. It's an action packed book about poker, greed, and knowing who to trust.  Molly Bloom- photo credit link The book details Molly Bloom's rise to run a secret celebrity rich poker game in back rooms and fancy hotels. The book drops some big names that many will recognize from many movies we watch on the big screen. IMDb's description of the movie is, "The true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier, who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target." photo credit link I would highly recommend reading the book first, because the movie does not use names
