Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day! Whew, the work week is halfway there. The Hubby goes back to school next week and his first teacher day is Friday. It's crazy how fast time flies anymore! I try to be the person who gets along with everyone. You never know when you will need someone's help, so why not try to be nice to everyone?  But, sometimes there is just that one person..... source HAHA, try to enjoy your day! It's going to be a hot one here in Indiana. Until next time, Kara

One Hilarious Trainwreck

I really enjoy having the Hubby home during the summer months when I have my half day at work. It always allows us to do something together.  This week we decided to have a date day. We ate a late lunch at Qdoba, went to the mall, and saw the movie, Trainwreck.  I had only saw a couple commercials  for this movie, but they looked funny. I got on Rotten Tomatoes to see how it rated. It was 85% on the Tomato-meter.  source I convinced the Hubby to see it and off we went! This was a really funny, well written comedy. I caught myself laughing so hard I was snorting....yeah I know... I am that girl who snorts when they laugh too hard.  source Here is the story line according to IMDB.com : Since she was a little girl, it's been drilled into Amy's head by her rascal of a dad that monogamy isn't realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo - enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment - but in actu

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday! I'm so glad that the work week is half over! I have the radio on all day at work. It's mostly on for background noise, so I'm not sitting in complete silence, but there are a few songs out right now that I can't help but tap my foot to when they come on. Here are a few of my recent favorites! Thomas Rhett- Crash & Burn Little Big Town- Girl Crush Cam- Burning House I hope you enjoy the rest of the week! Until next time, Kara

Pepperoni Chips

I have started a high protein, low carb diet. I have been really trying to be good when it comes to staying on track. But even saint's get tested and I'm not even close to that! So I decided to try to make something that was salty, crunchy, and delicious, so that I wouldn't want to eat potato chips. Wait for it..... PEPPERONI CHIPS! Yeah, you heard me right. Soak it in... they are crunchy, spicy, salty, and DELICIOUS! They are also super easy! Pepperoni Chips Pepperoni's (turkey or regular) Baking Sheet Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Lay out your pepperoni's on your baking sheet and pop them in the oven for 6-8 minutes.  Take them out and use a paper towel to soak up excess grease.  Then pop them back in the oven for 2 minutes. (You may have to adjust baking time for the size of your pepperoni, mine were small). Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the pan. Enjoy! You can eat them plain or with your favorite dip instead of chips! U

Date Night Jar

The Hubby and I have been together 8 years. The one thing we have consistently argued over for those 8 years is the question, "What do you want to do?" I consider us to both be intelligent adults, but when that question comes out of the other persons mouth its like we become fools and have no thoughts. Our common answer is "I don't know" or "I don't care".  Well I found something to fix that problem. Our date night jar! I saw the idea on Pinterest (where all ideas live of course) and decided it was an inexpensive, crafty solution to our problem. All you need are Popsicle sticks, markers, a jar, and your list of activities you want to use. Both the Hubby and I brainstormed ideas in the categories of free dates, cheap dates, more expensive dates, and plan ahead dates. Here is our example list: Making the list was the hardest part. There are a lot of online links for date ideas. Just cater your list to your tastes and preferen

Fancy Crepes....I love those little, thin pancakes!

Usually when I am watching the Food Network, the Hubby isn't paying attention. However, the other day we were eating lunch and Brunch with Bobby was on.  Bobby Flay was making crepes and the Hubby decided that those looked good. He said, "can we have that for dinner?" I'm like sure. I have never had crepes before. Sweet or savory, I had no idea what to expect, but they turned out to be easier than I imagined and they were really yummy! I call them my "fancy" crepes, because when you go out to a restaurant they cost a ton to get! It's like wow is that thing filled with cash? They may look fancy, but they are really easy to make and you probably have it all at home already! My "Fancy" Crepes 3/4 cup of all purpose flour 1/8 teaspoon of salt pinch of pepper (leave this out if you are making these sweet!) 3/4 cup of milk 2 Tablespoons of water 3 eggs 3 Tablespoons of butter, melted and cooled I threw the eggs, milk, water, mel

You Only Live Once....

I used to really care about other people's opinions. Growing up it seems like you always want to please others. You want to make your parents, teachers, family proud, you want to be perceived as cool by classmates and the older kids, but the one person you don't aim to please is yourself. You always seem to come last. As I have gotten older, I have really came to the conclusion, I don't care what other people think.  Do I want to be liked? Yes, who doesn't?  Do I care if you think your car or house is nicer than mine? Nope. What if people judge me for my life choices? That's okay, let them think what they want. It doesn't matter what choices you make, someone will always think you should be doing something different. I know the Hubby and I have went on a lot of vacations this year and that people think we are nuts, but I don't care. Life is about living. We currently don't have children, so why not enjoy being able to take a trip on a whim?!?

Book Recommendations for July

I love to read! When we go on vacation, I always make sure to stock up on books. If you are going somewhere this summer or just need something to read, here are some new recommendations! Covet, The Fallen Angel Series- by J.R. Ward J.R. Ward has become one of my favorite authors. I love her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. When I finished that series thus far (I can't wait until the next one comes out), I decided to try her Fallen Angel series. SOURCE It's another action packed drama of characters. You'll see some familiar characters come about in the book from her other series. I loved that they were somewhat tied together, but also involve separate plots. Here is the description of Covet: Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about—his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an optio
