Sometimes you just need to remember...

I have kind of been MIA lately. We haven't been up to a lot this summer and I just haven't felt like writing much. I think my time would have been better spent by building an ark, because with all the rain we have gotten it seems like we keep needing it! I have been in a funk lately. It just seems like things don't always go the way you plan it out in your head. Sometimes life just decides to throw obstacles in your way. But no matter what happens you always have to remember... SOURCE So when life decides to be an a-hole and throw obstacles in your way, just make it one more course to conquer and remember what you have to be happy about. I have a wonderful husband, a great family and friends, and a great life. It's easy to discount the positive things in your life, when you are only focused on the things your don't have or the negative things that come up. Just remember, everyone has those days, weeks, months or years. But what shows your true charact

Inside Out.... great film from Pixar!

Pixar did it again. They made another movie that both entertains kids and adults! I went to see Inside Out this past weekend. I thought the movie was funny, heart-warming, and entertaining. The concept of the movie was really well thought out. If you haven't heard what Inside Out is about, the synopsis is: Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. I think this a great mov

Pitch Perfect 2

We are lucky enough to still have a drive-in movie theater about 7 miles from our house. We decided to head over there this weekend and see the double feature.  The first movie was Jurassic World (which the Hubby wanted to see) and Pitch Perfect 2 (which was my movie). The Hubby decided he didn't want to watch the second movie and went to sleep in the backseat! I was pleasantly surprised with both movies. Jurassic World was better than I expected and Chris Pratt was great in it. But I was really excited to see Pitch Perfect 2. I loved the first movie. I thought Pitch Perfect 2 was good, but not as good as the original. I feel that sometimes when you hit the ball out of the park on the first film, it's hard to follow up with another home run.  I still thought the movie was super funny and well worth staying up until 2 am. Who wouldn't quietly laugh at Fat Amy rowing across a lake in a tiny paddle boat belting out a love song, while their husband is asleep in

Spy, a Funny Comedy!

I love Melissa McCarthy. I think she is super funny and a great role model to women. She isn't your typical "Hollywood Sweetheart", but so many people love and respect what she does. I was super excited to see this playing in our one screen local theater!  The Hubby was skeptical, but we both thought this was hilarious! The summary of the movie is: Susan Cooper is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency's most dangerous missions.  But when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global crisis. This cast was a great fit. They were witty and really played well off each other. I will be getting this when it comes out on DVD! If you are looking for a comedy this weekend, look into seeing Spy! Kicking Off Our Summer in Atlantic City

Well the Hubby is officially out of school for the summer! I know he was super excited to be free for a couple months. We decided to kick off the summer with a vacation. We have been to Atlantic City a few times and really enjoyed our trip last year in June.  I have been receiving hotel offers since the last time we stayed. Since we could get a free hotel rooms at the Tropicana, we decided to take it! The Tropicana is a great hotel located right on the boardwalk. It's got a huge casino, nice rooms, good restaurants, and shopping. We had a couple nice days where we were able to walk on the beach and enjoy the sun. My sister decided she was going to make fun of my selfie-stick. I, however, loved it. I was tired of going on vacation and trying to take good pictures of us. I hate to ask people to take our picture, this was a great solution, so don't judge me! The Hubby decided he was going to get into the ocean. Let's just say the water was proba
